01 Jul 2008 14:21Dowie's actually said he doesn't want to bring in too many players. I think the bookies have gone slightly overboard making them outright favourites, they could very well prove me wrong, but as far as I can see, they have an average manager and no outstanding players.Southbank Old Boy wrote:Have they actually spent much money yet?
The only signing of note I can rememer is Hudson from Palace. I know there is a long way to go but if thats a sign of their intent I'm not sure they're setting themselves up as the Chelsea of the Championship.
Oops I meant blue and white hoops - but this could still leave me open to ridicule (again)LUX wrote:blue and white?

01 Jul 2008 15:52I actually agree with Dowie being a pretty decent manager (I think I've even admitted to this in the past!Vision wrote:In terms of momentum they finished last season fairly strongly so from that alone i'd have placed them certainly as play -off contenders (although the beauty of the Championship is that you could make a case for virtually every team as a play-off candidate).
Added to that, despite what some might say, i think Dowie is a good manager at this level and with the financial clout that is available if needed then I'd be pretty surpised if they're not fighting it out for an automatic spot come the end of the season.
