i personally thought they might challenge derbys lowest points record from last season

but they are doing very well at the moment
6th in the table and just beaten arsenal at the emirates. this was arsenals 2nd defeat at home in the league

i am thinking that hull are the equivalent of reading in their first season in the prem:
they are a relatively small club
they havent changed their team a great deal since they got promoted
they are proving themselves successful in the prem

Basically because we're not in the same division as Arsenal this season so we don't get to play them. Did you forget?

I don't think Hull will be challenging for Europe at the end of the season, remember they got totally stuffed by Wigan only a week or so ago, but they may avoid the drop and all power to them if they do. Personally, I like to see the smaller clubs up in the prems taking on the big boys. Sure, they may not threaten but they survive and that, I think, is the best that Reading can hope for for the forseeable future. Charlton did it for a few years, Wigan are doing it now as are Hull. Next year I fully expect to see RFC up there again having another bash.

Exactly what i was gonna say. Everyone keeps harping on about how surprisingly well they're doing, but they've got these few players who came from bigger clubs. Hardly like Reading's first season.

I think eveyone is getting a bit over excited....They have beaten Arsenal...not stayed up. Watford beat Liverpool at Anfield, in their first Prem season and went down. Sheff Utd beat Arsenal and went down. We beat Liverpool and went down. Wolves beat Man Utd and went down and so on. Hull have won ONE big game and started well. It does not mean they will still be a Prem team come May.

Exactly what I thought, they have basically deconstructed the side that won them promotion and I would imagine are spending a lot of money on wages to attract players like Boateng, Geovanni and Cousin. I can't see any similarities at all
