Noticed on another thread the difficulty getting good seats for Burnley due to the club not selling the South stand to home fans, I assume this will be because they have given QPR all of the south stand, I wonder if this actually prevented people buying tickets for the offer??

It should not affect Doncaster, as the offer is now over.

Disagree - I really don't like the view from low down either. If it was row A or nothing I'd go to the pub instead.

Some people really like sitting at the front, so they can get to hear the players sceaming at each other, winding each other up and also people like to be able to abuse players/ref and know that they can hear them.

I personally would get the tickets as a last resort if I was really that desperate to see the game - for example last game of the 05/06 was QPR and I would have definately sat at the front if it ment getting in, but agree I don't like the view from down there. Plus more chance of a ball smacking you in the nostrels.

Definitely a better view than from outside the stadium, and certainly better than from the pub - but if you weren't a real fan you'd possibly choose not to sit there in preference to the other options.

Well it was me that posted about not wanting to sit in row A behind the goal and I guess 32 years of supporting Reading doesnt make me a true fan then, so be it, I couldnt care less what other people think.

If i went to the cinema or theatre and could only get seats right at the front, again I wouldnt buy them.

When I go to football i want to see the whole game from a seat with a decent view not from near ground level.

I don't see why the south stand cant be opened to home fans, as I am sure there are people who want to go at the last minute who want a decent view.

In wet weather you don't normally get soaked to the skin in the front row of the cinema either.

My point is still valid despite the childish rants. The front row of seats at the Madejski is not the same as the front row in the cinema - a pathetic analogy if ever there was one. Having spent years on the terraces at the Tilehust and Town ends of EP I have watched RFC in storms, beautiful sunshine, snow and gales - and just enjoyed the whole experience of being a fan. I was younger then, and even at that time dreamed of being able to continue the experience in a nice stadium like the one we now have. The point is that I would not have prefered to stay in and watch if there was a ticket available. The truth is that you get a really good view from the front row - a very different one to that which you get from further back, but still a really good one. I prefer sitting up high these days, but have not baulked at sitting very near the front when that is the best seat that I can buy for a particular game - because I want to be there.

That is part of being a fan.

I hate sitting in Row A, although it's not so bad at the sides as behind the goal. Anyone who really wants to be at the match would go for Row A over nothing, but I can see how someone considering just casually popping along might prefer watching in the pub.

And I think I made that perfectly clear to those with an intellect. I am happy to deal in opinion without forcing down your throat as fact - but my opinion it is and so it will stay (ps you are perfectly entitled to hold my opinion too if you like - it is a really good one)

I started so will add more, longer term fans have the higher up seats already, it is the floating fans that do not attend lots of games that find that they are stuck down the front. Anyone that has attended the Madstad since day 1 will KNOW that the front seats are the least popular, due to reasons listed, therefore RFC should look and see if their policy of, pricing, seat release, stand closures is actually costing the club ticket sales.

Real fan business is a waste of time. At the end of the day people pay good money to watch the games and if they feel they wont get value for money then there's no point in them going. If I had the same choice I would also probably reject the seats unless it was a massive game. QPR wont define our season so why jump on the back of someone?

Slammed, I reckon I have an even better view looking straight down the halfway line and I got my first season ticket this year, so I reckon it's a bit luck of the draw where you end up sitting.

What nonsense. Your stories about the old days are irrelevant - you could've moved back under the shelter whereas those down the front today are condemned to stay there and get wet. I've been going along to Reading matches since I was 5, but there's no way I'd pay £23 to sit in rain with an obstructed view for a match of middling importance in the middle of the season. These things don't make me any more or less a fan than anyone else, they just make me someone who has limited disposable income and has to make choices regarding what I do with it.

Kids like it too as they get to meet Kingsley and the players.

Short sighted fans and those with vertigo may also prefer it.
