Yeah exactly, he looks good in the odd game but that's it. I think the best he has ever played was under Hughes at Blackburn which might explain him going to Man City. But when you looks at the transfer fees that clubs have paid for him I just find it staggering.papereyes wrote:I'd always thought his record was good, when he had a run in a side without strop or injury or being played as a winger or being in court for beating up a woman.
But its not, really, is it?
He always looks better as a big fish in a small pond (spells at Celtic, Blackburn, under Robson at Newcastle). I think that's because he's a gobsh1te.
I would have thought a defender is exactly the kind of player they need. If I were them I'd more excited about Daniel Sturridge coming through than buying in that waste of spaceTBM wrote:Bellamy is exactly the kind of player City need though....i think he'll do well for them, better than Jo thats for sure!
I don't disagree with too much that you say, TBM, but how exactly did you come to the above conclusion?TBM wrote:Bellamy is exactly the kind of player City need though....i think he'll do well for them, better than Jo thats for sure!
I can see Johnson & Elano going to be honest....plus those are all midfield players - i can see Bellamy playing upfront as a striker. i just think City (under Mark Hughes) will get the best out of him - the team has pace and a good attacking flair which i reckon suits his game.Thomas L'Heureux wrote:I don't disagree with too much that you say, TBM, but how exactly did you come to the above conclusion?TBM wrote:Bellamy is exactly the kind of player City need though....i think he'll do well for them, better than Jo thats for sure!
Bellamy is injury-prone, disruptive, and not really that great a player. When you consider City already have Robinho, Wright-Philips, Ireland, Michael Johnson, Elano, etc, what would Bellamy really add?
Those players each have pace, a good touch, and are all capable of scoring goals. In my opinion, they need a player who's slightly different to what they have already, and Bellamy isn't too dissimilar in my eyes.
As boy185 said, suring up their defence or finding a combative holding player would be more beneficial, especially if the likes of Kaka are on their way.
Hmmmm, that's not very good, is it? I'm sure some of us can recover from it in 24 hours.Ideal wrote:Sports scientists say it takes a top athlete two months to recover from one saturday-night-binge,

I always thought he did it streching to actually score the goal, didn't realise it was the celebrationIdeal wrote: FYI he suffered his injury when sliding onto his knees celebrating a goal against Bayern Munich

You don’t have to list Solskjaer’s credentials to me mate, I think the guy is a legend. I just found it odd that you chose him though. It also took longer than 18 months for him to get over his injury properly. He got injured in the 2003/2004 season and played just 2 games before coming back for the last time in 2006/2007.Ideal wrote:..who was known as a thorough professional, who never complained when benched, trained seriously to recover from his injury and came back to play 18 months later.. clearly you don't know what you're talking about.
