Wolves looking dodgy?

I'm not one for saying that a team will collapse just because they have before, but I wonder if they are getting at all nervous. Top all season, at one point 10 ahead of us and 7 ahead of Brum (I think) and now they are being reeled in. Of course we could lose to QPR and they win and then win when we haven't got a game on Tuesday and they would be 8 ahead. But if this didn't happen...would they start to see history repeating itself (losing an 11 point lead over WBA) and start bottling it? Would their history become a self-fulfilling prophecy? Would they think "Oh no, not again"?

On a secondary note, supposing we did overhaul them, who would we want to go up with us? Funnily enough, despite their crap fans, I might prefer them to Brum, but it would be quite funny if neither of them made it and somebody else crept in.

Yes, but that is about whether they are going to beat our record (which they obviously aren't going to do now) and it has broadened out to include Leicester, Wycombe etc. This is a specific post to debate whether they are going to blow up or not.

Looking at the Wolves players body language in the highlights I've seen, they looked lost and bewildered.

A couple of wins will get them rocking again, but not winning since xmas should be a huge concern for them and their supporters.

Long may it continue.

In my life away from HNA? and in the conversations that do crop up in it from time to time, of late I've been sweating Cardiff, who are now fourth on 48 points after winning away to Coventry this evening and have a match in hand at home to Derby in three weeks that one would expect them to win.

I think it reasonable to say that with plenty of time and points on offer (51) remaining, they've made a quadrangular affair out of the fight at the top and, assuming that they do claim three points from that Derby match, could be said to be on a provisional 51 points that would put them 4 in front of their nearest pursuers, 4 back of Brum in third, 6 back of RFC and 8 behind Wolves.

As for the self-fulfilling prophecy/"Oh no, not again" angle as it would pertain to the current leaders...nah, I don't put any stock into notions of "institiutonal memory" being at all determinative of a club's fortunes. They shouldn't be, anyway, unless guys let it get into their heads and affect their play negatively, which they shouldn't, but then they might.

So I dunno. This ain't a fight for the weak-willed, that's for sure.

I can easily see Wolves having a big enough wobble to end up third, leaving us and Brum to go up auto, and Swansea winning the playoffs after sneaking into 6th place.

Birmingham have been despicably mediocre. I'd even prefer to see this Wolves side go up. At least they've entertained.

Not necessarily to do with three horse races but the team finishing third for the past three seasons has actually gone up via the playoffs.

Anyway if someone goes above them they will lose their nerve and end up in the playoffs. Just as we would I think. except our fans are as much of a bunch of c*nts as Wolves.
