Salute the Championship

Already we probably know who will finish in the top four next season in the Premiership probably who'll win it . Ten or so teams will be stuck in the middle going nowhere not up or down and the other six will accept the ignomy and humiliation of finishing 17th a great success .

Compare that to the Championship , bottom can beat top , every game is contested , it's a real league where every team could win something and you can win your league , a true competiton . There may not be the best players in the world but in the main they are real players , watched by real fans watching real football .

Heartaches and despair , ups and downs , but a league where come the last day of the season three teams could still get automatic promotion with all to play for .

I can't explain the logic and desire to want to win so much , but know if we do go up what we're going back too , a chance of survival but winning nothing .

All I know is the Championship is the best league for true football fans and it's proper football , with proper winners and losers.

Stand up and salute the championship .

It's been a journey and a half this season. Thought it would be easier than it has been. More determination in this division imo even though the quality does lack at times.

It's a very competetive league and one in which reputations count for nothing just look at the bottom three. Doesn't hide the fact there are some terrible games.

Who would have thought we could be in such a position after such an abysmal run in. The team have played dire, others around us were dire. That is either the the quality or the league or the distinct lack of quality. It's well known this league is a closely fought league, less settled but with teams who are there or thereabouts. This year has thrown up the shocker for Charlton which i never saw coming at the start of the season. It still has heartbreak written all over it until the last kick of the season. That applies to both ends of the table.

A dreadful league littered with a predictable top four where the only excitement (if you can call it that) is whether Arsenal and/or Liverpool will fail to make the CL and eight games for nearly all teams where generally they'll be lucky to get a goal let alone a point plus overrun with a load of mediocre foreigners...

Well thats my take anyway.

I cant post the link due to work firewall, but the current Championship Season is statistically very low scoring. It might even be the lowest scoring English League in history, or at least very close to it.

But then you have the Bundesliga for that.
