It slightly penalises the winning team yes, but don't forget that there'll almost certainly be an additional penalty imposed onto the team who got the match abandoned too - for instance a 3-point deduction like happened to 'Boro when they didn't turn up for a game. So there's no incentive for a team to do it.T.R.O.L.I. wrote:'greed Afers - and LOLZ @ Spacey.
As a slight aside - when a game is abandoned due to a team having too many (is it 4) players sent off I presume the game is awarded to the other team. Is there a standard scoreline for the awarded game (ISTR Scotland being awared a 3-0 win when one of their opponents didn't turn up)? If so, what happens if, for example, the standard abandonment result is 3-0 but a team is winning 4-0 when their opponents default?

Does that mean Stephen Hunt could go to the ref and ask him to abandon a game cos he keeps getting called a gypo and its upsetting him?
But how about his own club's supporters hurling the abuse?AF1 wrote:but he is a filthy gypo![]()
