Its quite sad to see it how it is today. Tired and belonging to yesteryear - but still one of the top 2 greyhound stadiums...

Nothing like this is likely to happen soon. In May (when that newspaper paper picked it up) there was a strategy meeting of the Dons Trust. Some Dons fans believed the current strategy effectively shuts the door on going back to Merton and is more about developing in Kingston, where they are.

So this meeting just reemphasised that they want to go back to Merton one day , but it's not going to happen for a good long time, if ever.

It would be great if the site managed to keep some sporting links. The Catford dog track was demolished over two years ago and nothing has happened to the site since.

The previous Wimbledon was financially sustainable as a Tier 2 or 3 club, though.

Moving them to MK was essentially a property development exercise.

I believe their plans are to redevelop the stadium to around a 6000 capacity. One would assume plans would be in place to expand to something like 15,000 in the future, and lets face it, that would have suited the old Wimbledon.

All depends on your perspecive and what you want out of it. WFC said that to convert it to be all-seater would be prohibitively expensive. WISA said that it was a lot more practical and less expensive than WFC said.

Plough Lane was pretty grim in fairness, even by the standards of the time.
