What is the point?

Hardly ever any replays but they are able to show the game (almost) live. Believe it or not I prefer to watch the action as it happens and only ever look at the big screen to check for replays. Did not see one yesterday. What is going on?

When Palace scored their second goal, it briefly flashed up a third goal and was hastily re-adjusted.

The lack of a Sky/BBC/ITV all-camera production at most games means that we now just get a single camera feed to cover the match and we don't have the hardware/resource to produce replays. No Sky+ in the PA room I'm afraid either. And hitting the wrong button does occasionally happen, especially when we're just as gutted as the oppo scores time after time.

Ah yes, in their is where the journo's enjoy Waitrose pies and sarnies, fitted out with individual desks for them to plug in and file their match reports. Plus a bigger press conf room for all the post match interviews. Sadly the PA room is at the other end of the scale. We still 'enjoy' having to sit behind soundproof glass though, have no idea how loud/quiet the music is, but then again at least the upper west can't hear the expletives coming from us during some of the performances this season!

Well it was the Scunthorpe Telegraph yesterday The seats now only see the likes of the Donny Bugle and Barnsley Village Times. Until Liverpool match of course when the world's media will descend - at least we may get more choice of pies that day!

Tom who? Yes, well we all have an opinion on that and we've spoken to the club at the start of the last few seasons to either change or drop. Club has the final say though. But come on, this season we had to blow dust of the old C90 cassette and quite enjoy playing it so infrequently

As for the shrill, yes when the kids are 6 or 7 years old you get that But you should see the smile on their faces and their families after, they'll look back on that moment for years to come. Heck, I still remember a pen shootout against Steve Death - scored 1 out of 10. That's what I'd like to see back at half time.

It's 'nearly' live owing to the fact the feed we get from the press gantry camera is on a cable run that winds it's way round the stadium to us and through a load of equipment in order to get it on the screen - so there is a couple of seconds delay on the final output.

The reason for showing the game on the screen in the first place (yes everyone really should be watching the pitch!) is that there are people sat in the gods that will watch the screen depending on where the action is. We did try a season or two back not to have the game on live and go with a score/team graphic instead - this made it easier for us to not show anything controversial, but the feedback from the fans and club was to show the game.

It's 'nearly' live owing to the fact the feed we get from the press gantry camera is on a cable run that winds it's way round the stadium to us and through a load of equipment in order to get it on the screen - so there is a couple of seconds delay on the final output.

Surely it's the time it takes for the signal from the camera to be digitally processed and encoded - rather than the length of the cable that the signal has to travel down?

I want to make the most of any goal this season and Tom Hark is twice as worse because of how rubbish we are.

Nice to have the ear of the BTB team. While you are here please note that the people who object Tom Hark are the the ones who like to lead the noise and all they are really upset about is it steals their thunder.

The lack of noise from the south east corner is what's really embarrassing.

Tom Hark helps and all the kids I can see, seem to love it. Like most of the music in Y21/Y22 though it's never loud enough.

I noticed at Coventry they have the latest Championship & Prem scores constantly scrolling across the bottom of the screen and at half time they show highlights of the first half. That makes the whole thing of far more use. Could we not do similar?

The best thing to go on the big screen was the video that was show before KO with the LOTR tune in it.
