I agree with you there; Reading now have a rival for stupidest sacking of the season. Irvine kept them up in 2007-8 having taken over in November '07 with PNE facing the drop. He took them to the play-offs in May, at the end of his first full season. This season Preston have been on the verge of administration and he had to allow St Ledger, his star defender, to go to Middlesbrough on loan.
