so JM says that our receipts are 60% down on last season, how the oxf*rd does that work, we still have the parachute payment, same as last season, so I cannot see how this can be right.

Also said that the situation is the same as last Jan, there is basically no money, good job SSC did not piss the non money up the wall.

I agree that what he said this morning was not clear. We may well be down 60% as compared to PL but certainly not this year compared to last year - when the incomes will be about the same.

He may have meant that next year we will be 60% down from this season - although that sounds too high - even allowing for the parachute payment stopping.

Madejski is very good at throwing unsubstantiated statements so the fans can say "what a great chap he is", this60% doesnt add up just like the "statement" about the clubs finances all very " what they want to hear" blurb !! and yes you could say that I doubt anything he says !!

He was totally non-commital when asked about the transfer window - avoided it very well and of course, he wasn't pressed on it. He was a tad annoyed, I gleaned from interview, that some fans would dare to suggest that he doesn't care about the club anymore, but all he waffled on about was him wanting to sell it to a billionaire, not a syndicate and he'd like to be Club President.

But we spent £3.5m, the previous season we sold Shorey for £3m, Kitson for £5.5m, Sonko for £2m and spent about £1.5m at most. So that balances out at roughly the same transfer income. And of course that loan that got recalled needs counting somewhere.

Well true. I don't think there's much point in speculating over a random figure Madj has probably plucked out of the air, without knowing what it actually refers to. Receipts says to me gate receipts. But I'm not sure how that could be possible unless we used to make a feck load on corporate stuff that's vanished.

Meh. Bigger things to worry about.

Yeah but Ian, and I'm not one for knocking JM after all he's done for the club, this was the ideal platform for JM to tell the fans what's going on and at least get his facts straight and he didn't - he's bamboozled us with this 60% down on receipts figure, so no-one really knows what he means. I like the word bamboozled btw.
