perhaps a %age of debt against your income as a club, to prevent debt getting out of hand
like the idea of a bonus point

personally I think I would like to change the points system to a silimar system to Rugby Union, the point being that it would encourage attacking football.
Something like:
4 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 0 for a loss. 1 point for scoring 3 or more goals
what about 1 point for a draw, 2 points for a win plus 1 point for each margin of victory?handbags_harris wrote:If you're going to try and encourage attacking play, then surely the only way to go about it is to introduce a points system in relation to the margin of victory? So if you win 3-0 you get three points, you win 7-4 you get three points, you win 1-0 you get one point. The losing team gets nothing. I haven't quite worked out what to do for draws yet though

19 Jan 2010 12:03^^^^ agree with this. And good point about the deciding games against weak teams Wolsey. The Reverend wrote:No more staged transfer payments. All up front - either you can afford the player or not.
Not a perfect system but it did take me around 30 seconds to think of!TheMaraudingDog wrote:LOLsoggy biscuit wrote:You could try and rule out diving, you could try and sort out finances.

So its 1-1 with 10 mins left. Me thinks a lot of sides will settle for the 2 points.
What a shite system Soggy, bar the point for 3 goals. 2 draws = 1 win and 1 game lost so more sides will go for draws.

I was talking to someone here about the London Irish loss at the weekend and how the royally f***ed up because of bonus points.
Maybe make the win 5 points or maybe the margin of victory thing that someone else mentioned would be better

19 Jan 2010 12:59But 'the way it was' used to be 30 yard screamers going in the top corner, but dissallowed because someone was a yard offside near the touchline. Not to mention the offside trap ruined games that you hardly see anymore. Easy to forget just how bad the old rule was, thats why it was changed.weybridgewanderer wrote:put it back the way it was, if you are in an offside position you are offisde, no ifs buts and maybes
