Been keeping en eye on East Stirling for a few years so very pleased to see them doing so well.

Also before the Man U evening cup game, we took a detour via Spotland. Guy running the club shop shut the doors and gave us a quick tour of the ground, transformed since my dad and I last visited in the 70's - probably the year they got relegated as the game was against Charlton.

First instincts would be someone like Lincoln. They must have had 10 years in League 2 now. Can't be many others that haven't filtered one way or the other in that time.

Darlington i think; Lincoln had a season at League 1 level about 10 years ago, Darlo have been in the bottom division atleast throughout then i think

I think the point is that those teams in the top division can only leave it via relegation, whereas teams in the lower divisions can also be promoted, so it is (theoretically) less likely for a team to stay in one division in the lower tiers than it is for those in the Prem.

Have to say I have been keepng an eye out for Rochdale's results over the last couple of years, especially after they lost out in the playoffs the last couple of seasons.

A friend of mne has a book about the Dale. There was some guy who wrote a diary for The Times and it was a season long journal taking in home and away games as well as anecdotes about quirky happenings in the town. They failed to make the play-offs on the last day of the season as they los at Plymouth Can't remember its nam but a excellent toilet read!

Read it a couple of years ago Floyd and I think the Plastics would struggle to understand it.
I have an old Ripping Yarns tape about Barnstonworth United that sums up what it's like to support a team that never does anything.
Unlike the lead player (Michael Palin) in that film I didn't get my son or daughter to reel off the names of the full reserve team of Reading in 1923(?) before they could have any dinner.

Rochdale have been in FL2 in all of its guises since 1974, so 36 years.
Reading spent 40 years at the third level from 1931-1971 (and we are about to start our next sequence!)
Arsenal have the longest unbroken run in the top division starting in 1919.
Everton have spent more years in total in the top division, but their current sequence started in 1954.
Liverpool have been in the top division since 1962, which is not quite as long as their previous best from 1905-1954.
