Ahhh yes that's him. To be fair to BBC, it was ITV who had the rights, so they couldn't do anything at the games anywayT.R.O.L.I. wrote:Also aimed at Roger Johnson IIRCGeekins wrote:I remember when we had our may day champions parade and BBC South were at the ground. So that's why Gillingham somehow got featured in certain shows aimed at central south. Are you sure he didn't confuse the Wiltshire Gillingham with the Kent Gillingham?
Perhaps he did Spacey. I can tell you though that Steggall regularly had loud and ocassionally violent arguments with Sangeeta Bhabra in the Meridian newsroom over the biased coverage of Gillingham. Chris Maughan had to break up one such bust-up by throwing a cup of Andy Craig's cold tea over the pair of them.Thaumagurist* wrote:So that's why Gillingham somehow got featured in certain shows aimed at central south. That was when ITV had the football league goals show it used to be on really late on a Monday night. Gabrial Clarke used to front it and it just so happened to be the season Reading reached the play off final so we featured quite a few times as the main game.No Fixed Abode wrote:Wasn't Gabriel Clarke around before Steggall?
I remember going to a Reading v Grimsby game at Elm Park and being on TV as Gabriel was doing his filming down Norfolk Road. There's a young NFA - walking behind him getting on TV pulling faces.
No we're not.Ferris wrote:We're crazy, we're barmy, we're Andy Steggall's army...
