Blackburn fan dies

A Blackburn fan. aged 30, was taken to hospital after receiving serious head wound during half time on the concourse at the Stoke v Blackburn game yesterday. He was described as being critical, and sadly he died during the early hours of this morning.

No Stoke fans involved in the incident, one person helping police with their enquiries.

I just saw this .........Don't really know what to make of it.....I have a fear it will be over something trivial like standing up. When I saw Bruce Springsteen at the Emirates, a bloke a few rows in front of us had his nose broken by a guy in front of him who was constantly standing up. All the bloke did was ask him to sit down.

Very sad news. And agree with Dirk, if it was the result of some stupid prank that makes it even worse, although there is no angle that makes it anything other than tragic.

Apparently his heart stopped and a fellow fan revived him with CPR only to die later in hospital.

Reading one of the Blackburn forums, Blackburn have apparently developed a right set of obnoxious twats following them these days, who get very drunk and aggressive and generally cause trouble wherever they go, and were throwing bottles around, and this bin "for a laugh" in the concourse at half-time.

There is the odd suggestion that the guy tried to "head" the bin away as it came towards him, but it doesn't sound like he'd been actively taking part.
