Could certainly see Mourino taking over at Liverpool – if the Americans go – and getting them back to Tier 1. Wouldn't rule out either Barca or Real too. Mourino and O'Neill's next managerial destinations are going to be very interesting ...

Following on from Roberto Mancini's promise that he will be "tearing down" the City Ticker banner and his claims that "When we go to Old Trafford, we will take that banner down", Stretford End Flags (SEF) would like to offer the opportunity for Mancini to personally take the banner down. The 28th February not only sees the day Manchester United partake in the Carling Cup Final, it is also 34 Years to the very day that Manchester City last won a trophy. To mark this occasion, SEF will be fulfilling Mancini's promise and will be taking the ticker banner down, down to Wembley that is! Since when have Real Madrid been one of the Big 3. Yes they have fantastic History, as do Liverpool, But what have they won recently that is a major trophy?

Since when have Real Madrid been one of the Big 3. Yes they have fantastic History, as do Liverpool, But what have they won recently that is a major trophy?

Madrid's history is exactly what makes them a top team. In Barca they are up against probably the best team club of the last 30 years. That is the main reason why they haven't won a trophy in the last 2 years it doesn't stop them from being one of the top 3 clubs in the world. It's clear Mourinho doesn't like Barca so Madrid would be the perfect fit.

Mourinho thinks he is the best manager in the world. He wouldn't care how many managers Madrid have had recently he would want to be the one who wins trophies against the seemingly unstoppable force of Barca and prove how great he is. He might not be "stupid enough "to go to Madrid but he's definitely arrogant enough.

Since De Stefano and Puskas won then 5 European Cups on the trot and Bernabeu turned them into the THE European super power. They've never really slipped from there, in the same way as Utd never really slipped out of the top few clubs in England despite not winning the league for however long, 27 years wasn't it TMD?

Not sure I would say there's a top 3, maybe more like 5 or 6 though. Either way, Real would be one of them.
