In those same 24 years Real Madrid have won 10 league titles and 3 European Cups with 24 managers although some have returned for second stints. Yes, Manchester United have won trophies like the FA Cup and the League Cup, but the Spanish equivalents either in the case of the former isn't taken as seriously or the latter does not exist.
It's always stated as a matter of fact that the United way of managerial stability is the key to success but is it ?
Like in England then??SpaceCruiser wrote:Spanish football is like Scottish football - most of the time it's a two horse race and Real Madrid is always buying the best players in the world like Barcelona is.

It's been chosen because the comparison has been made a lot of in the media recently and is related to two clubs of the same size. QPR have only recently come into money, they do not have the history of the two clubs mentioned, they do not compete in the top league in their country and they have not competed in the Champions League.Wax Jacket wrote:single comparison which has been chosen specifically rather than at random. you could also point at QPR having had 4 managers this year and suggest that, in comparison, United do suggest that managerial stability can help you win things

Since we are talking about Ferguson's time in charge, shouldn't be go back to 1986.TBM wrote:^^ my point exactlysandman wrote:4 different clubs have won La Liga over the last 11 years. (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna)

Spain - 5 (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, Deportivo, Atlético Madrid).
England - 7 (Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, (& even) Chelsea).
Just being picky, but thereyougo.

Since the first title in 92/93 - Utd have won 11 titles in 18 years (and 2 CL's) - over the same time, Madrid have just 6 titles (and 3 CLs) - a marked difference.
