I see that France have left out Nasri and Benzema, whilst bringing in a few uncapped players. I know that Benzema hasn't had a great season, but thought those two would be picked ahead of untried players.

Totti's retired from international football, hence why he hasn't been selected by Italy. Agreed with Paddington about Nasri and Benzema being left out, that does seem strange to me, as does Pato for Brazil.

Sad to see Bikey's been dropped by le Guen. The World Cup will be poorer without his hair-trigger insanity.

The Germany squad is yet to be announced, but we already know it will be without Rene Adler and Kevin Kuranyi. The keeper fractured his ribs in a game a couple of weeks ago, while Kuranyi is suffering from just not being very good.

Grafite's on 11 for 30 games. Not awful, but hasn't quite managed anything this good recently. He seems a harder worker, and big as in muscular rather than just quite fat, so I suppose he's a smoother fit into Dunga's tactical setup.

I read this morning that Nasri is out of favour as he once sat in Henry's seat on the team bus. Apparently, the French old guard (i.e. the World Cup winners) are treated as gods in the squad. You cannot make it up.
