He's by far our best referee. It's a big stage for him, and in many ways it's the same as a club reaching a final but for a referee, and recognition he fully deserves. Good luck to him! He represents England, get behind him!

Webb is one of the worst refs - check out some controversial decisions he's got wrong this season. The only reason people think he is our "best ref" is cos of his presence on the pitch but is that a good thing?.....personally, no, the best refs are the ones that you dont notice (cos fans dont turn up to watch a ref)

Couldn't disagree more, what controversial decisions has he got 100% wrong? IIRC the birmingham wolves game when it was a penalty. All referee's are human and just like any player referees can make mistakes that doesn't stop them being one of the best in their field.

And I also said 100% wrong which would involved going against the laws of the game which state 'A direct free kick (or Penalty) is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any
of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be
careless, reckless or using excessive force'

Therefore none of the above incidents you mentioned are wrong because they were all made in his opinion so therefore not 100% incorrect.

So using that as a basis, no refs are ever wrong??? - cos they could just use the line "its in my opinion" - the fact that i can pick a handful of Webbs "mistakes" from the top of my head says it all. He's just another Graham Poll IMHO

Ok so what do you think makes him better than our other refs?

He admitted he was wrong after the Birmingham Vs Wolves game.

Why is he so good? Well there is more to refereeing than just giving fouls and misconduct, you need to be able to act on instinct and handle any situation that comes to you. You need to be fit and have great stamina because most referees cover more distance during a game than the average player.And of course you need command and respect over all the players and he certainly has this.

That's the classic statement made by bitter managers who are too chickenshit to blame their overpaid and/or badly-coached sides for a defeat.

Webb is an extremely good referee. Far better at his job than many top flight footballers are at theirs.

The assessors, The F.A & UEFA disagree and to be fair, them > you when it comes to this subject
