Talksport mentioned Fulham have been given permission to talk to him after agreeing a compensation package with Huddersfield.

Anyone heard any more on this?

Would you be alluding to Paul Ince? I would think that Lee Clark has a bit more up top to contend with life as a PL manager. The fact he played for Fulham obviously helps.

Everyone knows that returning to manage at a club you played is always guaranteed to succeed.

It does give you a greater understanding of the clubs character and set up though.

It doesn't make you the right man for the job, or even the right man at the wrong time, but it does give you a bit more of an insight.

Fulham are a very differest beast from when Clark was there before, helping them out of the lower leagues.

Clark's got a really good record with Huddersfield and I'd like to think that he'll be given a proper run and not get sacked at the first sign of trouble. His lack of top flight experience might make it difficult persuading the likes of Zamora, Pantsil and Hangeland to stay as well.

It what way are they a different club?

When he left them they'd already had a number of years of mid-table premiership football. Don't see much different these days to be honest. If anything they're spending a bit less money but that's about it.

Clark was only there five years ago. 

The main stakeholders and influences on the ethos of the club are the fans and the chairman, neither of them have really changed and the infrastructure won't have changed too much. I dare say he's kept in touch since he left too.

There are plenty of ex-players who have succeeded as managers, from Maurice Evans to Howard Kendal to David Moyes to Owen Coyle to Kevin Keegan and many more. It doesn't mean they WILL be a success but it can give both parties a view into the most important relationship at the club, that between manager and owner/chairman.
