19 Jul 2010 17:38Check out some of the things they've been saying though.........."Fabregas has told us he wants to sign for us" - "he doesn't want to be at Arsenal anymore" etc etc. I reckon they have offered him a deal to join them and are now trying to force Arsenal into sellingRow Z Royal wrote:Isn't tapping up just ringing the bloke, offering him loadsa money and getting him to hand in a transfer request?
All Barca have done is state their public desire to sign Fabregas which, last time I checked, wasn't illegal - just disrespectful.
Anyway, Hobnob training's this Thursday m8.

19 Jul 2010 19:48Substitute Fabregas for the name Tommy Smith and that's very similar to what Rodgers said about him wanting to come here and play under him!TBM wrote:Check out some of the things they've been saying though.........."Fabregas has told us he wants to sign for us" - "he doesn't want to be at Arsenal anymore" etc etc. I reckon they have offered him a deal to join them and are now trying to force Arsenal into sellingRow Z Royal wrote:Isn't tapping up just ringing the bloke, offering him loadsa money and getting him to hand in a transfer request?

An unreported crime is still a crime, right?Sun Tzu wrote:Unless Arsenal complain there hasn't been any offence committed has there ?
And if Fabregas HAS told them he wants to join them then again, there has been no offence, expect perhaps by Fabregas.
Barca probably think they are doing whatever it takes just like Arsenal did when they signed him as a 15yr old.TBM wrote:Seriously, some of the shit they've come out with (regarding Fabregas) over the past month or so is bordering "tapping up"
The arrogance of them isn't going to do themselves any favours if they want to make Arsenal sell him. The fact is Arsene doesn't have to sell up, he has plenty of years left on his contract and if he sulks to demand a move then he may have a LONG wait if Arsenal decide to be pcunts and tell him to see out his contract.

To take a cricket example (OK, slightly at a tangent !). Ball hits batsman plumb in front . No one appeals. Umpire knows he's lbw but no one has 'reported' the crime so it's not lbw, and he's not out.Hoop Blah wrote:Wrong forum for the discussion, but how the hell is an unreported crime not a crime?
It's not in a bunch of statistics but it's still a crime if you do something that's against the law.
They appear to have spoken to the player, which without his clubs consent is tapping up.PieEater wrote:This is (probably) not tapping up though, it's more like unsettling a player under contract.
