Well it's sort of the same with me and the England team. I support England in all sports except football.

I don't feel anything positive towards the England football team, they have no redeeming features, no really exciting players, no likability whatsoever so I don't support them. If you don't like that, it's your prerogative.

Lampard has had successes but one of the truly top tier great midfield players? Nah.

Woefully unfair. In the 05 season he was probably the best in the world. He has consistently been a top player since joining Chelsea. His goal scoring record is quite incredible. Sadly the anti Chelsea lobby fall for the 'fat frank' and 'deflected' nonsense and he was always underrated.

Same as Ashley Cole who has been Englands most consistent player for 10 years and gave his all yet the simple minds boo'ed him each and every time he ran out..John Terry was lamblasted for years yet the cries went out for him to to to Brazil because of the fragile defence lacked leadership. Which proved correct with our 3 games and out.

Fans don't like Chelsea so their players must be shit. Fans 'love' Liverpool so their players must be great.. Football fans are so simplistic

However Lampard is well past his best and the last 3 seasons he has been overall poor. Going to ManC will not help him in any way shape or form.IMHO

I realise that the main reason for joining City was to keep himself fit (and possibly be near Manchester for Christine's BBC work?) ahead of his move to the St8s, but how much playing time is he likely to get in the few months he'll be there? Surely if Pellegrini saw him as going to be an impact player for them Frank would have featured (at least as a sub) by now?

Or is he injured and I missed that?
