  Despite the late goal it was quite a good day out, The Hour Glass decided to make it home fans only so we hiked to the Bird in Hand. Quite a decent prematch with a lot of Reading fans there. Wycombe have put a bit of effort into hosting the away fans with foods stalls and a beer tent (same as last time except it wasn't raining) and a generally pleasant prematch area.   Such a frustrating result. Wycombe were there for the taking, first half display was best of the season by a country mile and the scenes when wing scores were epic. We looked really comfortable until about 70 minutes and then hunt tried to act as an established manager. Brought off Ahmad who was our best defender and the wingers, brought on Garcia who did zero tracking back. If that was hunts intention then that's on him but Garcia looked like he wanted to be anywhere else and Jacob then got doubled up on.   A positive step in the right direction, two draws away to Bolton and Wycombe isn't to bad at all. Now we need to put in another positive performance against Vale next weekend and slowly start the climb towards the middle. Noel mentioned a possible three new players next week?   What I find hilarious is that if Hunt doesn’t make subs pretty early in the game, some on here rip one out of him. Equally when he makes subs others rip one out of him. This is ridiculous. The subs today made sense. Don’t forget our players had a long trip to Bolton and a day less between the games so bringing new players on made sense. On this occasion it didn’t work out but it was still the right thing to do.

  With the caveat that I wasn’t there, I wouldn’t argue with those subs and they made sense on paper Sometimes subs work and reinvigorate the side (Bolton). Sometimes the same changes have the opposite effect. But as someone said he prob had to make them as players were tiring on a warm day after a long midweek trip

  Sorry it’s the management’s inexperience at fault again. First round of subs were to freshen things up I expect that’s why they were pretty much like for like so that’s acceptable. It’s the later subs which were the issue as they’d appear to be a very half hearted attempt to see out the game with Fraser coming on - who is a DM so that’s fine - but Doyle on was just weird in the circumstances as I’d have left it at just Fraser or brought on Dorsett too and looked to pack the space out given there was less than 10 minutes to go. Consequently a bit of a confused message to the players and we paid for it.
