That was an enjoyable evening and well worth the 350 mile round trip! Thought the kids looked ok for the most part but lacked a bit of quality and cutting edge. Don't think either team deserved to score in the first time though Walker had to be alive to a few crosses early on. Don't know what to even say about either of their goals. Utterly baffling how a "team" of officials can award that first one. The ball is so far over the line it might as well be in the car park. Our lot didn't even initially protest that much because they assumed it would obviously be given as a goal kick! We didn't deserve to be trailing and fair play to… More

I just looked at JLow's ratings and I have 9 the same as him. Can I change please?????

The Plymouth fans on Twitter don’t seem to have taken the result too well, apparently we’re a ‘weird’ fan base for celebrating a victory against a League 2 team.

Bit harsh on Baldock - nice unselfish pass to set up the 4th ... don't think Meite would have done that in those circumstances.

Thanks for the (cheerful) report CR. Shame Olise didn’t have a better game but otherwise seems positive

Too early to tell obviously, but any signs Obita will be able to challenge Richards? It'll be interesting if/when he does come back to full fitness.

It's such a difficult call to make, isn't it. I would love to see him on the bench as soon as possible, maybe even Saturday, but we have to be so careful with him. Could be October before we see him really pushing Richards, given the international break.

  • CO CountryRoyal 28 Aug 2019 · 8:58am

Absolutely. He’s the best left back we have at the club and without doing anything spectacular just showed a couple of glimpses of quality. He’s still a while off yet, I don’t think Plymouth did their homework because they should have targeted him more - I know that’s what I’d be saying if I was an opposition manager. It was a really nice introduction for him. In addition, Richards has done nothing to deserve being dropped and the spot is his to lose. I’d look to gradually introduce Obita, bring him on as a slightly defensive sub in games and push Richards further up as a winger/LM. One other comment about the game; is anyone else… More

Richard ls playing very well. Yesterday was Obita's first competitive appearance in 22 months. The shirt is Richards' to lose, and even if his form drops I think Obita needs another month of U23 and cup appearances. With the new formation, Blackett is surely a CB option? Out of the equation at LWB

Wouldn't say so. Blackett is a decent attacker so could do really well in the current system. The added protection 3 CBs would give him would help cut out his weaknesses too. Obviously hes available to play CB too but it was telling last year that Yiadom was moved into CB instead of him when there was a switch around following a sub.

Yep definitely not his usual creative self which was a shame as he’s such an exciting player, but it’s easy to forget how young he is, same with Loader really. Think I only really remember one time Olise really went at his man and beat him in the box before getting a decent ball across. Loader is frustrating because you can see there is a player there, but it the final ball or cutting edge isn’t quite there. He loses the ball less this season, seems a bit stronger. His dribbling is good and he can get out of some tight situations but then far too often plays with his back to goal and then will pass backwards or sideways. As a… More

yep Blackett for me now is a left sided CB. He isn't especially suited to the LWB position, but I always liked him as 1 of 3 CBs
