Reading will play Premier League Brentford at home in the third round of the League Cup, with the game scheduled to take place at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Tuesday 8 September. The additional cup fixture means the away League One match against local rivals Oxford United will now be pushed back another week and will likely be played on Tuesday 15 September.
